What can I say about the Christmas Parade that hasn't already been said? What pictures can I post that haven't been posted? We know we were awesome. We know we pulled together and accomplished much in a short period of time. We know we were awarded "The Most Popular" by the judges (see where the Summerville Journal Scene announced the award in their recent article). Much has been said. Much has been done.

Summerville Announces Parade Winners
On Sunday, December 11, 2011, the Annual Summerville Christmas Parade took place through the streets of Historic Downtown Summerville at 2:00 pm. Despite some windy and cold temperatures there were spectators out cheering and parade entries out marching and performing and everyone had a grand time. This year’s parade theme was “DREAMing of a GREEN Christmas: Renew, Reuse, Recycle and many of the parade entries were focused on showing their ability to think creatively about recycling.
The panel of three judges stationed on the mayor’s balcony in Town Hall took their job very seriously as they watched all the entries go by. This year’s judges included Louis Diaz of Waste Pro, the title sponsor for the parade,Ellen Priest, publisher for the Summerville Journal Scene and recently retired Summerville Fire Dept. Chief, Marc Melfi. There were four categories of awards that the floats were judged on and after much deliberation following the parade, the winners were selected. The winners for the 2011 Annual Summerville Christmas Parade are:
• Most Adherence to Theme: ServiceMaster of Charleston
• Most Creative: Rose Court Farms & Stables
• Most Original: Cub Scout Pack 776—Ridge Baptist Church
• Best Overall: Cub Scout Pack 759—Boone Hill United Methodist
