Planning for Summerville Christmas Parade Dec 9, 2012

From the 2011 Summerville Christmas Parade
Mary Cutts reports that Susan Morris, the Executive Director of Summerville D.R.E.A.M.
(Downtown Restoration, Enhancement And Management), has released the 2012 Summerville Christmas Parade theme:  "Summerville's Santa's Workshop." The parade will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2pm in downtown Summerville.

All parade entries will be judged by adherence to theme, originality/creativity/overall effort and visibility. Prizes will be awarded to the top entrant for Best Adherence to Theme, Most Creative, Most Original and Best Overall.  Last year, Rose Court Farms won the "Most Creative" award.  We hope to be even more stunning.

Faith Williams and Mary Cutts led the effort last year to organize the parade, and they are up to the challenge this year.  If you are interested in participating in the parade or supporting those who do,  we need people to :
  • walk along with the horses
  • haul horses
  • carry signs
  • scoop poop (the crowd loves to hate that part)
  • ride
So, if you are interested in participating, talk to Mary or Faith, or come to Madra Rua for our Monday Night gatherings.  All horses must be approved by Rob for the parade and wear matching costumes.  Faith is ordering costumes ($68).
