Campers off to Broxton Bridge Plantation for Camp 2013

We had a busy day on the farm yesterday because 1/3 of Rose Court Farms' horses hauled out to Broxton Bridge Planation for the 2013 Southern Winds Equestrian Camp.  The girls are getting ready for a great week!  The camp has 24 girls this year, and the people attending from Rose Court Farms include:

  • First time campers: Emily Hensley, Kristen Hensley, and Kinley Metts
  • Returning campers: Sarah Hudock, Rachel West, Sarah Calcutt, and Anne Bond
  • Junior counselor: Madi Cutts
  • Senior counselors:  Brooke Clayton and Brianna Lane
  • Instructors:  Lindsey Loppnow and Liz Irwin
  • Camp cooks:  Roger West and Jeremy Hensley
We tend to think of what the girls will get out of camp.  But what about the horses?  The horses attending will get great mileage, supervised lessons, and new experiences that will make them even stronger riding companions.  We want to thank the many people who volunteered to send their horses to camp, and look forward to seeing what these traveling equines have learned.  They will come back better for the trip. The horses attending include:
  • Mac (owned by Mary Cutts)
  • Bella (owned by Amy Hudock)
  • Nina (owned by Tammy Putney)
  • Whiskey (owned by Brianna Lane
  • Apollo (owned by Rob Browning)
  • Zip (owned by Diana Whittaker)
  • DJ (owned by Lynell Sowders)
  • Lexus (owned by the Hensley's)
  • Breeze (owned by the Hensley's)
  • Cheyenne (owned by Rob Browning)
  • Moe (owned by Brooke Clayton)
  • Czar (owned by Lindsey Loppnow)
  • Reba (owned by Lindsey Loppnow)
  • Clifford (owned by Liz Irwin)
  • Maybeline
  • Smores
  • Peanut (owned by Diane Healy from Middleton Place Stables)
We'd also like to thank Mandy Carpenter and her mom and day, as well as Faith Williams for volunteering to haul horses and equipment when they didn't even have any horses or children going.  We need to also thank Robert Browning, Lindsey Loppnow, Lynell Sowders, and the Hensley's for hauling as well.  We couldn't do all this without the support of all of these folks.  So, thanks!

So many wonderful people made camp possible this year.  Jason and his staff at Madra Rua held a rocking fund raiser for us, and we couldn't be doing any of this without their help. We also send out a special thanks to the businesses who donated for our silent auction:
  • All is Well
  • Black Bottom Stables
  • Charleston Spine Center
  • DV8 Salon and Spa
  • Recycled Cowboy
  • Rose Court Farms
  • Venus Flytrap Designs
  • Madra Rua - Summerville
Rose Court Farms finds and keeps great people -- because we all know it's not just about the horses. We also create a caring and supportive community for humans, and no where else can you see it but in the incredible support people have given this camp.  You all rock!
