Invitation to Attend 2013 Summerville Christmas Parade

The Summerville Christmas Parade is coming up Sunday, Dec 8 at 2:00 pm in downtown Summerville, and Rose Court Farms will be there. You should be there, too! Boarders and friends are invited to participate in the Summerville Christmas parade.

The theme for the parade is "Sweet Southern Christmas," so Rose Court Farms has chosen as its theme: "Horse Dynasty." We will use camoflouge as the cental theme and red as the accent color.  Mandy is making horse blankets and leggings for the horses, and we encourage participants to wear jeans, camo shirts, red santa hats, red scarves, and black sunglasses (and beards, if the mood strikes you). Diana and Faith are organizing. We have barn meetings every Monday at Madra Rua.  If you'd like to participate, please join us. We will have in the parade:

• Walkers
• - People who will walk along with the horses, just in case any spook or misbehave, and who will hand out candy.
• Poop scoopers -- will drive the poop wagon and will scoop up any messes the horses leave behind.
• Riders - We currently have 15 riders who will walk their horses through the parade route. Rob has the final say about horses and riders.  Riders will need to pay for their horse costumes (not sure of cost yet but we paid $80 last year) and for hauling horses to the parade, if hauling is needed.  Riders and their horses also need to attend practices. 

We have to be at the parade grounds early, so we will be hauling out with the horses at 11:30. We will be at the barn before that putting on costumes and getting ready. And, I imagine, there will be an after-parade gathering at Madra Rua. So, you are welcome to join us for any part of the celebration!
